Celeb Baby Name Review
Knox and Vivienne
Knox and Vivienne
The Brangelina twins have finally arrived and we now can take a look at the names chosen to accompany them on their walk through life! First there\'s Knox Leon. No doubt the x at the end of this name is meant to link all the male siblings the way many families have chosen to use the same beginning letter for all the children. In and of itself this repeat element could be a plus since the brothers originating from different cultures will have a unifying factor in their identity. The name also wins a good grade by being short and to the point.... boys and the men tend to like that quality. No ready nicknames here either, and that's another plus. But then we run into some issues. This name suggests less than positive associations in our society... hard knocks, a knock on the side of the head... knock, knock, who's there? Oh, and what about Ft. Knox for the son of one of the wealthiest couples on the planet? Teasing fodder? Yes, for sure! As far as the subliminal influence is concerned, this child will do things his way every day... and in every way! He won't mind getting into a few physical tussle either to make a point or protect his territory. While he'll be one of the youngest sibs he'll want to establish his alpha position with his brothers and sisters. Especially expect some fireworks when he starts interacting with feisty Zahara. In the past, Knox has most frequently been used as a surname but like Madison, Parker, Taylor, Lawford and Wyatt the name has moved into the first name position in some families. That said, with Knox we have a name that fits better as a surname. We can't ignore the sight and sound of a name when it comes to usability and here, with Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt we have a full name that does not flow. The sounds don't blend and the syllables tend to stumble out of rhythm. Oh, and the middle name Leon?.... you can expect this little guy to hide that moniker when he gets older going to his middle initial exclusively. Overall, a few pluses on this twin's name, and not nearly enough to make this name worthy of A+potential! And what about sister Vivienne Marcheline? Vivienne and its alternate spellings (Vivien, Vivian, Viviene, Vivianne) is a name that is slowly coming back into use. The name is elegant to say and has a wonderful nickname option in Vivi or even Viv. The name also speaks of this little one's French birthplace. But Brad and Angelina decided on one of the least ideal spellings, and would have had a much stronger subliminal influence with Vivianne. Vivienne is a name that will stir assertive and even aggressive behavior, so this little lady will not want anyone telling her what to do. This spelling is more masculine than feminine sparking an interest in sports... and often giving birth to a true tomboy. Here's a case where the nickname is even stronger than the formal name. Angelina's mother's name was chosen as the middle name bringing the concept of honoring a family member into the process. In addition, Marcheline is a beautiful sounding name and will likely be cherished by this little girl. But in the sight and sound of this full name we once again have little or no flow or rhythm. With a hyphenated surname it is most ideal to keep the first and middle names a bit shorter with beginning and end sounds that meld on the tongue and on the ear. Overall, the new twins will stir up lots more independence in a family where siblings are already vying for power. In any large family group it can be a great benefit to coordinate names in their influence so that the family unit is founded on a strong bond... with each individual playing a vital and confident role. Brad and Angie have quite the knack when it comes to expanding their family, but may need a few hints when it comes to the choosing baby names... if they add yet another addition in the future!
